I've just finished this one. It's an L-00 that's had the upper bout shortened by 2 frets so it could have a 14 th fret neck join and the bridge in 12th fret position ( customers idea ). It has an X and lattice braced top, the lattice is Balsa and CF. It has 2 pickups installed, a Fishman s/hole p/up and a K & K pure mini and onboard Trinity system, i've got to say the K & K sounds fantastic, it's the first time i've used them.
B/s Eirw
Top Wrc
Neck Eirw
Bindings Curly Koa
Headstock veneers, armrest and rosette are Huon pine
Bridge Padauk
Tuners Schaller
Finish Miritone lacquer
Sorry the photos are pretty ordinary, but that's the sort of photograher i am ( ordinary )

Thanks Col, it is a bit unusual, but so is everything i do for this guy. This is the 3rd guitar i've made for him and he's ordered another 3. Repeat business is always good.

Wow - that is different from the average L-00, but in a cool/funky way. How is the rosewood neck? Heavy? Could be good for sustain.
Did you need to make any other structural mods in altering the upper bouts?
cheers
Mark

Mark, I just left out the UTG in the upper bout, there was no room between the head block and UT brace. The rosewood does add a bit of weight, it's a fairly heavy guitar but quite manageable ( spelling dosen't look quite right on that ) It's quite loud and sustain is good and it has a really nice tone. Overall i'm pretty happy with the guitar, i hope the new owner will be as well.
