This one just off the bench and had a photo shoot today. I've built a few of these now with a 15" concert scale on my soprano body. They are far easier to play if you feel cramped on the soprano neck. Plus they are really punchy.

Body - Tiger Myrtle
Top - Red Spruce
Bindings - Ebony
Fret Board - Ebony with 12" radius
Peghead Overlays - Some unknown Burl
Bridge - Honduran Rosewood
Neck - Spanish Cedar
Tuners - Pegheads
Strings - South Coast Uke NU-MW
Finish - Satin Lacquer

A few years ago the German ukulele manufacturer Brüko started to offer exactly this: concert scale neck on soprano body, and that model was immediately well received amongst uke players. In my opinion this concept really fills a gap.

Cool Myrtle again Allen but really love the 'unknown burl'.

I was looking through a large box of burl slabs I have and spotted the pinks in this one. It was a really nice compliment to the Tiger Myrtle. It's so hard to find anything to go with it other than Black.

Awesome Allen! How are you doing the headstock inlay if you don't mind me asking?

It's a silk screen using pearl ink. Those fine details in the letters would be next to impossible to do as inlay. The other option I've used is laser engraved and filled with coloured epoxy resin.

Cheers Allen, yeah it would be a nightmare unless you hand punched it with a small sharp point, even then as you say near impossible...Looks great I like how organic it looks!
