New Leccy Build

I started this one in January and after a few weeks of distractions and fishing I've got back into it.

Had a spare Fender Tele Neck in the drawer that I figure I'd use. Otherwise I'll carve one out of some satin box that might be appropriate (if not a bit heavy)

I've found that using a forsner bit to hog out the majority of the cavities (body chamber, neck pocket, pickup cavities) is really speeding things up and making life easier.

Plan is to possibly bind top and back with satin box, make some satin box pickup mounts, probably make a sassafras control cover for the back otherwise might mix it up with a satin box cover. Tomorrow I'll be routing the neck pocket.

G'day Stu,

That looks a lot like Trevors accoustic shape, works well for an electric, I like it.

Cheers,

Haha the Jig is up- that lasted all of 10 seconds! Yeah the bass side of the guitar is pretty much a complete copy of Trevor's Acoustic shape and the treble is a mix of Trevor's and the Nigel Forster Jazz Guitars. It started out as fooling around with shapes in CAD but then turned to blatant copying when I realised how well the two melded together. Originally it was going to be a tele with the cutaway as it is now but I found that a bit boring...That and I wanted a voluptous shape..
