Got asked to make a dread for this young fella's 18th, and was only 2 months late, but they are understanding, and know all the BS I was going through for a while, so it's all good.

Top: AAA Sitka
B/S: Mango
Neck: Qld Maple. Mulga top plate, Mango back plate.
Binding/Fretboard: Mulga
Bridge: Mulga/Maple/Mulga
Purfling/Rosette: Red Celluloid, B&W Plastic
Electrics: Fishman Matrix Ellipse
Tuners: Grover Sta-tites
Finish: Mirotone 3220

Better sprayed finish that last time, but still a bit or room for improvement, overall, certainly my best yet.....

Hope you like.

Bridge pins will be replaced with bone when it comes back after a play in period(just don't have them on hand)

That looks great Nick, I like the laminated bridge . I have done something similar on my current build.

Cheers

Thanks guys.

Tod, the bridge ended up like this as a result of a brain fart. I cut the bridge blank up for the head plate instead of the fretboard tail, as I thought. Sooooooo, I had a wafer of Maple, and went with that. The maple is also why i want the bone pins now. I think it'll tie in better.....

Nice work Nick! I like the celluloid. Did you put anything underneath it? And how did you go keeping it flat while bending it for the purfling?

Cheers,

Shane

Cheers, Shane.

Ah. The celluloid. 1.5mm x2mm of bending on the flat. If I never domit again, it'll still be too soon. I traced the outline of the top on my bench, and, using pan head stitch screws every 10-15mm, help it down flat. I pinched the missus's hair dryer to heat it up for the bending, and it helped a lot. Still a real bitch, but I do like it. That's why I used the blue celluloid on the tele I finished.
