Hi guys,

Finally got to spend some time taking pics on the weekend so here are a couple of my recent builds from over here in Wellington, NZ.

First, a small-body (370mm lower bout).
WRC top
Black walnut B&S
Fijian Swetenia (hog) neck
Black & white ebony headstock veneer
Ebony fretboard and bridge
24.9" (632mm) scale length

My first attempt at a hand-rubbed aniline sunburst. Need some more practice :? but it didn't come out too bad. Was also my first bolt-on M&T neck joint and first using an outside mold. Will continue to use that method going forward.

Looks good Shane, bit of a water colour painting wash look with the burst which is not a trad look but I could get used to it. Did you use metho or water for the die?

Nice. I'm not sure about the burst, but then I am not a fan of any burst, so don't pay any attention to me. Two things you've done that I'm trying out too. The M&T neck joint, and the dyes. I did the M&T joint on a 12-string I'm working on now. I have to say, I'm a convert.

That's a pretty guitar, tho...

Thanks Nick.

Jim, I used water after testing both methods. I could only get the extended time I needed to work the colours together using water. Still not very happy with the result. Will keep trying.
