I been a bit slack with posting lately. But here's my latest effort.

00 sized 6 string.
KBP top, Qld Maple back sides and neck, Gidgee fretboard and bridge.

My brother who's and art director in the advertising industry did this mock-up promo-style shot. Thought I'd share it with you. Thought it looked alright. You might notice G&G's books carefully placed in the lower left corner :)

Hi Mike
Very nicely crafted guitar. It has a great understated classy look. Sounds very well balanced - and loud for a small body. I like the satin finish. What did you use for that?
cheers
Mark

Thanks Mark. Yep, I was surprised how loud it was for a small body, and also a good bottom end.

Satin finish is: MIROCAT PC 3220 Clear Topcoat - Satin 30%

Beautiful guitar indeed Mike.

Nicely balanced tone and well thought out wood combinations.

You would have to be proud of this one mate!

Must get around to your workshop soon for a little play.

Cheers

Alan

Awesome looking guitar, and a beautiful full sound, just lovely work all round :cl Curious though, have you ever had any drama with Gidgee fretboards moving around? I did 2 electrics and both required the fret ends re-dressed around 6 months later. The Gidgee I used had been cut and stripped out in my shed for a few years before I used it. I stopped using it from then on, which is a shame because I have cheap reliable source of it as well, and would love to revisit it, interested in your thoughts, Cheers Paul.

The bouzouki I made last year needed the frets redressed at about 6 months. Not sure if that was due to the Gidgee or my craftsmanship? I put it down to the instrument moving from north qld to Bathurst.

No problems with other fretboards yet but I haven't used it a lot.

Comments/opinions from others welcome :)
