Custom Blackwood small body
Another small body acoustic done. This one had to have a smaller neck width and thickness due to the customer having limited hand and finger movement.
Back and sides - Tassie Blackwood
Soundboard - Bunya
Neck - QLD Maple
Fretboard and Bridge - Mulga
Scale length - 25.34"

Re: Custom Blackwwod small body
The bindings are WA Jarrah
Rosette is Tassie Blackwood with Mother of Pearl inlay
The finish starts with sanding the whole guitar down to 1200 grit, then I use is 6 coats of Rustin's Danish Oil applied with cotton cloths (rubbing with 0000 grade steel wool in between each coat) and then 2 coats of Wax (again steel wooled between coats).
I find the finish is really natural with a satin look. It plays in really fast and if I ever have to do a repair is really easy to refinish just where the repair is. It is also no where near as toxic as most spray finishes.
I like simple and neat.

Hi Tod, I just use my iphone in my loungeroom and then remove unwanted backgrounds in photoshop. I'll take some pics of my setup to show you what I mean and upload them.

A very nice looking guitar.
It seems that you don't like frets all the way up to the end of the fretboard!

Thanks Markus,
When I finally do a cutaway I'll probably add in a 21st and 22nd fret but until then I haven;t had anyone need more that 20. I have 2 builds to do before I can start a cutaway. I know I'll be getting as much advice as possible to set up the cutaway properly.
If anyone has any advice feel free to send it my way! (or plans)
