#2 Completed

Post by kiwinoz62 » Fri Feb 15, 2013 11:08 am

I actually finished this guitar back in December last year, but did'nt like the sound, too much treble :( . It sounded exactly like my 1st build, good but not great.
Then the light turned on, sudden brain spasm  , to begin to get a better sounding instrument I would have to learn the art of voicing the various components, etc.
Big learning curve, OFF came the back, re-sculpted the soundboard bracing also the backboard bracing, then the whole thing started to come alive :D.
Lets just say I am extremely happy with the result, great sustain/tone and all the notes just seem to ring out.
I think the brother-in-law will also be happy, a gift to him for allowing us to crash at his place when on holiday in Brisbane.
Second completion of this guitar, Wednesday evening.
A standard Cut-away dreadnought, EIR b/s, bearclaw sitka spruce top , mahogany neck, EIR fretboard, bridge, Durobond guitar lacquer finish.
Heres some pics. . .

Mmmm. All my sisters are already married. Shame. I could use a brother in law with your skills and generosity.

Really nice guitar, I really like the head stock shape too.

I cannot believe the skill of you blokes, it is just crazy the amount of fantastic looking guitars and uke's that are getting pumped out.

Well done

Col

Great looking guitar Wayne. The Bearclaw Sitka Spruce top is stunning. Keep building, it obviously suits you.
