Thanks everyone for the comments.
On the note of the guys in Botany, I have to say they are all top notch. Gerard, Darrell, Hugh and Peter are all wonderful. Extensive knowledge, lots of patience and encouragement, wonderful teachers. Gerard is very willing to take the time to talk and explain with nothing held back or kept secret. As much depth as you desire.

Wow. That's a pretty impressive (and ambitious) result for a first guitar. It must be a real source of pride playing something that looks so good and knowing you made it yourself. Fantastic. Where are you up to with #2?

Tiger Myrtle for your first build! Nothing like going in with the big stuff first eh Dale?!
A very nice guitar and great workmanship, one any one of us would be proud to have in our stable.

Great work Dale, and welcome to the ANZLF.
I agree with the rest of the crew, she looks gorgeous for a first and I understand completely why you chose high end materials like euro and TM to start with. There's no doubt that good guidance helps big time. But there's nothing like a heavy commitment to quality materials to keep ones mind focused on the job as it leaves nothing to blame but ones self should things not turn out as planned. If that was your strategy then clearly it has worked out for you very well.
So with that one so well nailed, what's next on the bench??
Cheers
Kim

As all of the above have said, I stopped talking about and showing my first guitar build since seeing first builds on the forum. Well done.

Thanks everyone for the positive comments.
Before number 2 I have to relocate to Hong Kong (again no shop of my own yet). I have been in touch with a luthier there and will discuss with him once I am in HK.
I am thinking OOO, 12 fret, and live back, to get a bit more bass. Woods are not yet determined.
