Hi
my second build ,first was 18 years ago ,so please be gentle on me
just setup this morning and it sounds much better than I feared it may.
OM size
EIR back and sides
Spruce Top
Bloodwood bindings
Sapele with Jarrah lamination neck
Headstock Jarrah on front and ash burl on back
Gotoh tuners
Finish : French Polish
and so many mistakes I dont like to think about,but Im pretty happy .

Nice Dave, i don't think too many of us have a build without mistakes, i know i don't, i make a few every time.

Looking great Dave, mistakes are just the marks of the maker. As long as they don't compromise the final sound/playability/look etc they are the difference between factory made and custom made. I know I have a few "unique variations" on the guitars I have built but we are always striving to do better and that's part of the fun.

Hey Dave,

Nice job! I especially like the bloodwood binding with the rosewood back/sides. I think it adds a bit of definition to the border areas that gets lost with a darker binding.

Don't sweat the mistakes too much: Some of my errors have been sickening, and I've always found a way to turn it into a 'feature'

I am always amazed how well new builders guitars come out, compared to mine years ago, well done Dave. I read once that the mark of a skillful luthier is how well he hides his mistakes.

Hi Guys
thanks for your kind words
although there lots of mistakes I learnt from my first build a classical (Ive attached pics of that for Rob)and didnt make those again,just new ones!!
Remembering back to the first, I was building it on a concrete floor ,didnt have a bench ,for a lot of it as that was in progress to,made my own moulds and everything else using very limited tools,I sometimes think its a miracle it looks like a guitar.
After that one Taff I think that the amount of information available ,specialty tools and cheap power tools makes it a bit easier, the only thing seems to be harder is finding the room to work in ,I would kill for a decent workshop !
