Keeping my wife happy!

OK, so according to my wife she used to play guitar. We've been married 25 years and I've never seen this although she does have a 1977 Yamaha classical that has always sat in the corner of our bedroom gathering dust. I have played it and it still has a sweet sound. SO, to keep her happy I suggested I make a guitar for her. She has always loved Blackheart Sassafras so that decided the back and sides. A Bunya soundboard, QLD Maple neck and Mulga Fretboard and Bridge finished it off. She is very happy with the result and is now complaining about her fingertips hurting from playing. It might take a little while to harden up those callouses. Funnily enough she still remembers so many chords from a very folk repertoire!

I have also built a BHS back and side with bunya top seems to work well.

That's talent, what sort of sound do you get from that timber combination? I ask as I am still to build my first.

Hi Eric,
The guitars sounds great. Very even tone across the full pitch range. Fairly warm sound. Good volume. The thing I found a little strange was actually working with the Sassafras. It felt like no other timber I have worked with. Quite "gritty" when sanding. It responded well to bending.
