Great Archtop Rod. Your finish is spectacular and the home made tailpiece looks just right!

Could you please tell me were you sourced the case for this guitar as they are hard to find?

Cheers

Ditto! All I could find/source locally in Un Zud was a Hiscox case, Beautiful case & I always feel safe leaving my baby in it but they aren't the cheapest case in the rack!

BTW, Nice job Rod, you've got the bursting down pat. The Engleman must have been some tight even grained stuff! Can't spy a grain line anywhere

Nice to hear in church but not in a Mexican prison.

Thanks for the kind words people,, Yes i think i have a lot to learn if i want to match it with some of the brilliant craftspersons in here, but i think that being able to learn from them, and with expeience i am gradually improving the quality of my instruments, i'm very happy with this one and so is my customer.
I get my cases from the acoustic centre in south melbourne, very reasonable price too, i also have a guy who makes to order for any instrument you have.
I'll have a look for a back shot.
Cheers all

Rod.

This is not a very good picture but for Alans information regarding the tailpiece, i've designed it so as it doesn't touch the soundboard at all like sir Bob would have you do, i put a raised saddle in the rim to lift it clear of the top, hence no damage to the spruce

Ahhh! Thanks Rod for that small but very useful piece of information. I remember Dominic had a similar tailpiece dwsign to yours.

So do I ask the guys at the Acoustic Centre for a case to suit a Benedetto 17" Archie or do they need dimensions?

Cheers

The brand name is AP, just ask for that by name and say it's for a 17" archtop.

Cheers

The guy has just picked it up, totally rapt, got some gigs later in the week he wants to play it at, can't help feeling a bit empty seeing it go out the door, like an eight month love affair being cut short, oh well suppose there'll be another one around the corner.
