Hi guys.
I completed another interesting project and think, that my humble topic will not be superfluous in the gallery ANZLF...
I built this guitar for a guitar player from Russia.
Spec -
B&S - Dalbergia nigra (Brazilian Rosewood, 25 years dry )
Soundboard - German Spruce, AAA grade
Neck - Indian Rosewood
Headplate - Sapele, quilt
Fingerboard - Macassar Ebony
Tuning Machines - Schertler
Finishes for:

B&S - Water based acrylic
Top - Shellac
Some pics of the stages of work and finished guitar -
Under the shellac German Spruce looks great -
... and pics for fun

Stunningly beautiful! (and I'm inclined to say: "as usual").
Is the bridge shape based on a particular model or school?

Great work Sergy, both are works of art (the arch lute is just fantastic), I particularly like the 'whitness' of the German Spruce on the guitar's top. It's amazing how adding just two more strings can add width to things, looks like you could land a jet fighter on that fingerboard! What sort of tuning would you use for this?

You're not wrong. I'm building an 8 string electric at the moment with a 27" scale, everything is oversized! To give you an idea I think the neck is about the width if a six string bass ... Massive. Used twice as much fretwire! Crowning the frets after mill etc was tedious!

And once again you've shown yourself to be a master craftsman.
Take a bow Sergy.

Lovely work as we've come to expect from you Sergy.
That German Spruce top is a ripper. Beautiful silk in it.

This style comes from the Russian guitars of the 19th century . But I have made small changes for the bridge.
So this in harmony with the shape of a guitar.
This instrument was originally designed as an authentic Russian seven-string guitar.
But at the last moment, my client decided that he needed 8 strings ...

Classical -
e b g d A E + D C (are also possible options - a + e b g d A E + D etc...)
Russian -
d b g d B G D + H
(This is largely a player preference)
The width of the bone nut - 65 mm
The width of the neck of the 12th fret - 75mm
This is for nylon strings.
6-string guitar - a standard outlay
The seventh string increases the outlay, but the eighth string it makes much more....

Martin, I'll soon show you not only photos of the archlute, but also its sound...
At least I hope so.
