Just when you thought it was safe to return to the shed, along comes a young guy who makes you stop...and think...

What was I doing when I was 19?

I was lucky enough not to have a war to fight, other than on playing fields, and I didn't build my first boat until I was 21. Amazing what you can do before anyone has told you that it's difficult! It seems no one told Tom how difficult guitar building can be. This is Tom's 3rd guitar, his first effort flying solo, and it's the medium sized, falcate braced guitar from "the book" (my "steel string concert classical")

King Billy on NGR. A pretty good effort, I'd say. Looks and sounds great. Here it is:

...and here's Tom playing it. No slouch in that department either!

More recently, I heard a parlour guitar (falcate braced) that Tom had just finished. One of the best guitars of that ilk I've heard.

Tom Langford is planning to make a career of it. Wish him luck!

He's not allowed to be concentrating on developing a talent like that till he's old, got kid's and a mortgage to get in the way!
Who let him stray?
Tell him to get back to sex, drugs & rocknroll like a good 19yr old

and tell him he's done some really, really nice work, dammit.

Nice Guitar , really nice peice of KBP and Nicely built , you have created a monster Trevor, he even seems to Favour K&K's like his mentor . if that's his first solo effort Trevor , you had better sign him up as your assistant , before he goes into competition with you. , must feel great to be changing the face of Australian Guitar making , particularly , getting young fella's like Tom started of on the right path from day dot , before they develop any nasty misconceptions about what makes a good guitar.

Thanks for sharing trevor , that's a fine looking guitar, and I'm pleased to here you say that KBP sound Good , I have always loved it.

Cheers,

Very well done, very pleasing on the eye. When I was his age I think I was wrecking instruments, did not start building until after the wife, house, kids and motorbikes stopped taking my time [and money]. Well done.
