Just when you thought it was safe to return to the shed, along comes a young guy who makes you stop...and think...
What was I doing when I was 19?
I was lucky enough not to have a war to fight, other than on playing fields, and I didn't build my first boat until I was 21. Amazing what you can do before anyone has told you that it's difficult! It seems no one told Tom how difficult guitar building can be. This is Tom's 3rd guitar, his first effort flying solo, and it's the medium sized, falcate braced guitar from "the book" (my "steel string concert classical")
King Billy on NGR. A pretty good effort, I'd say. Looks and sounds great. Here it is: ...and here's Tom playing it. No slouch in that department either! More recently, I heard a parlour guitar (falcate braced) that Tom had just finished. One of the best guitars of that ilk I've heard.
Tom Langford is planning to make a career of it. Wish him luck!
