It's a Mystery. New guitar

Post by Taffy Evans » Tue May 15, 2012 8:33 am

Here is the latest guitar “Mystery” I have completed in recent times.
Besides the slight changes from the traditional “Tele” shape this guitar features:

Alder body
Burdekin Plum [Local] Cap
Rock Maple Neck
Rosewood Fingerboard
MOP inlays
Kinman Pickups
Sperzel Tuners

I built the same style guitar for this customer 5-6 years ago and I am told that his son keeps taking it, so I was asked to build a replica for his son. It has a chambered body.
I could not get a photo with out reflections in it, but you get the idea.
Cheers

Spectacular Taff, I have something like this on the buckets list, years ago I made myself a Strat type git carved from one piece of Australian Red Mahogany but not chambered,so you can imagine the weight, nice guitar but just too heavy,so something chambered will be coming.
Very nice work mate :cl

Nice work Taffy, too bad for me Kinman won't make bass pickups. I'm almost finished with a single cut bass.
