Just thought I'd let you gays have a gander at my third build.
OM, Satinwood/German Spruce with EIR binding and fingerboard, BRW bridge.
Neck is Honduran Mahogany, Wenge veneer and (Rock?) Maple, salvaged from a bowling alley refurbishment.
Finish Tru-oil.
All woods and tuner colours were chosen by the (well happy) new owner.
Thanks for looking.

That's very nice Colin, I have just finished my 3rd, that was also built for a friend
Workmanship looks exceptional , very blond , but then they say"blonds have more fun".
Yes I like that
How does it sound ?

Thanks Todd.
It sounds, well, like an OM ( I used the Kinkead book) I suppose, not to shabby. Reasonable for both pickin'n strumming.
I'm not a great fan of light coloured guitars in general, but this Satinwood stuff is dense and stiff.
The set rang about as good as the EIR i used for a build I did at the same time.
When first finished, I thought this one was slightly better, but as the EIR "played in" for about 6 months it opened up a lot.
The owner of this is a beginner, and doesn't play it that much.

Colin, are you planning a pickguard for this guitar ?
I only ask because a spruce top with tru oil I would think would be very easily damaged by a hard strumming long fingernailed player like myself or even pick
I have a WRC topped guitar finished with a tung oil that is very easily damaged.

Great work Colin but you must be getting paid too much if you can afford some German Spruce, was it from Rudi?

Thanks guys.
Todd, there is a clear pickguard fitted, I like them because they don't hide the wood. I can just see it in the first pic.
Steve, I am paid too much. Otherwise how could I build guitars!!
I got several tops, lowest grade, ("C-" at the time) from Martin Ghul
http://www.best-eurospruce.com/12.html and they cost I think 25 euros at the time. (And he sent a me free higher grade top because one was cracked outside the template when the order arrived.)
Low grade they may be, but it's cosmetic and they are excellent value. His website is worth a look.
