Greetings once again from Geraldton WA. If anyone finds my post from this morning let me know, it went missing somewhere between here and Christchuch NZ.
Anyway, this is my 4th build commenced in April and passed on to it's new owners last Friday night. I was fortunate enough that good friends and guitar lovers financed this build and it is in the hands of people who appreciate it warts and all.
The guitar is another LOO with adaptions and changes. It is 25" scale 13 frets to body and is a bit deeper at heel and tail. The bracing is x braces on the back and with an x brace to the lower bout of the top. I have a "spainish" style neck block and a sound port to the upper bass side bout. This was also my first attempt at a slotted headstock which really taxed the grey matter but turned out pretty good.
I was once again working with some lovely wood from Tim Spittle which drives you to do your best to give it justice. I shall post a link as soon as the new owner does some recording, it sounded so good it was hard to give away.

Lovely work Archie. it has a very classy, understated look about it.

That looks like a stunner Archie. Can't see those warts! I love the look of the blackwood neck - amazing strata-look in the heel. I made a 13-fret L00 last year and I really love it. I will make another one soon and if it has fewer mistakes than the last it will be close to my ideal guitar. You really got it right with that one. How does it sound?

Some of us love warty guitars. I particularly love the headstock. A very nice instrument indeed.

Thanks for all your kind comments. This guitar was a further stretch in the evolution of guitar building for me and I am very happy with the results sound wise. It has volume and clarity with the plectrum but is sweet and clear when softly finger picked and I am looking forward to hearing it again in a couple of weeks time. My wife keeps reminding me that no one else (other than another guitar maker) will ever notice the small details that seem to become so glaringly obvious to me when I am poring over it with magnified glasses for so long.

Yep, we are our own worst critic! Don't listern to yourself, that is one magnificant guitar. I also like the beautiful figure in that blackwood neck and the slotted headstock is like adding a tie to a suit.

I've said it before & I'll say it again...Gawd I love Blackwood! never tire of looking at it and that neck is lovely but I think the bindings just set the whole package off beautifully. Nice Job Archie, think I feel a few Borats coming on....

Bloody luvly Archchie, the kind of guitar that just screams to be picked up and thems my favorite kind.

Love it. Been a bit keen on doing a 13 to the body myself after reading a heap of stuff about them a while back.

That is some quality work there. Well done. I'm thinking that I'd like to give an L00 13 fretter a go too.

And boy, does Tim know how to spoil us or what?

Just got in from the day job and see all these comments. Thank you all very much. Yes Liam I can honestly say that both the service and the product I have received from Tim has been superlative every time which is great as it keeps viewers oogling the wood and they don't notice the little filled gaps etc LOL. I have made 3 13 fret OO models now. The first was standard bracing and body depth with 25.4 scale. The second x braced, deeper body and 25.4 scale and then this one which is the same as 2 but with 25" scale and is getting closer to a sound I have in mind. I have posted some pics of the bracing and the neck block that I made up, all my take on various things I have seen on this and other forums that seemed to make a lot of sense.
