Nice axe! The Maple is quite dark I almost would have picked it as a Walnut (except quilted Walnut would be like hens teeth) but it sure has a nice deep figure.Did you do anything with stain to enhance the figure or is that just as it came out the gun?
What is your neck wood, is it some sort of Rosewood or is that African Ebony like your centre stripe? Looks very nice. Not overly keen on all the fret dots but then I'm weird and prefer none at all on mine
Also the pickups...Seymour D's or DiMarzio's? (questions,questions,questions!

)

it is american quilted maple and naturally it is not dark at all ...
here is a build pic of it prior to stain

i did stain and sanded a few times to accentuate even more radically the contrast
neck wood is African Blackwood ...THE black dalbergia !
no truss rod .. no finish ...just polished/buffed from raw
zero fret radius - flat fingerboard surface
the center strip is african gaboon ebony ...not dalbergia blackwood
currently pickups are : bridge-SD JB (i think i need to get f-spaced model) ..neck:chinese no name thing
even more questions?!
fire away

Wow! I'd love to see that in person. Don't think that pictures do it justice.

in person ...you will surely see the lap marks all over the body from wiping on the poly with a little cloth pad

That looks sweet! How many different tints did you end up using?

Looks good!
Is there a reason why the neck humbucker is a zebra and not the bridge?

the neck is super smooth and unlike most other types of rosewood ...the blackwood has no pores at all

Nice work with the colours scheme Runner, I know you told me your name once ages ago but I have forgotten it as I had a long time away from the PC.
