Absolutely bloody gorgeous - what a fantastic back! And a great finish - what was it?
Well done mate! A real credit to you.

Thanks Liam. You did a great job on it, and it was your attention to the details that made it turn out so well.
I bet the guys at the Sunday session were a little bit impressed.

thanks heaps for all the kind words.
Richard, the finish is mirotone lacquer and to give some more credit to allen, it was the first time i've ever even handled a spray gun. Allen did the mix, set up the gun (his no doubt expensive and flash gun) and basically demonstrated and then talked me through the whole thing. i'm very lucky indeed.
on a side note, I've just gotten back from the timber yard with enough timber for god knows how many ukes. how could such a ridiculous instrument be such fun to play..............
once again thanks for all the kind words.
Liam.

Oh boy, I'd love to get my hands on that.
Congratulations. Brilliant work.
Good teacher too - apparently.
What! he didn't let you print a label with your name on it? What a stiff.
Sorry. Just letting my jealousy hang out.
Cheers Hip.

I even got to give it a strum tonight. Sounds as good as it looks.
I told them all to put a label in them, but they all seem a bit shy about that.

Grrrreat work Liam, Allen must be a first class teacher because your superb uke looks as good as they come. Also i must agree with Hesh here, Tim Spittle must have really stepped up to the mark because the wood is just fantastic
Well Done!
Cheers

Liam came into our shop (Music City Cairns) and I must say, I was very impressed with this uke. First of all this would have to be some of the most beautiful blackwood I have seen. The finish is indeed great and tone is nice. You would not believe this is the first uke he has ever built and it shows you the value of having someone with experience guide you. Oh and of course, Liam's attention to detail and skills acquired in a pretty short period of time.

Liam, as noted above, great uke, stunning wood.
Why dont you have a competion for forum members to come up with a handle for your budding uke empire??
Heres my contribution (based on your avatar):
"Double Crab Ukes"
Its catchy!!! (get it, crabs, claws, catchy... oh never mind)
Prize could be a free crab mailed to them wherever they are.....
