Hi Markus and thanks.

The material on the tie-blocks is just some fancy Marbled/Pearloid Acrylic Polymer type material I had around. Not something I usually use, just thought I'd give it a try on this occasion. The inlay inset on the top of the tie-block is Amboyna Burl.

And cheers Soulman.

Jeremy.

Thanks Jeremy. Laying-around-materials sometimes yield very nice and also interesting results. :)

Actually Trev, this is an older one (late last year) that was dug up by a member, due to a question on Ziricote.

If I remember correctly, you were in fact the first to comment, very graciously I might add, on it.

Meh, but I'll take your second compliment anyway! :D

Unfortunately due to some health reasons in the family, not much has happened in my workshop since then - the past five months...

That will change soon enough.

Jeremy.

At least that shows my tastes don't change much in a few months and that I can still recognise quality!

Old to the forum but new to me. On the other hand we can check to see if Trevor's tastes remain consistent :D What a stunning choice of materials and craftmanship! The design elements are spot on. Nice job!! Sorry to bring up an old thread but this ukulele deserves it! Great job Jeremy.

Simply Stunning!! As Always

Jeremy,
Can you explain the changes you made in the sound board bracing etc to allow for extra string tension?

Cheers
Graham

Thanks Donovan for resurrecting just to compliment. 8) Glad you like it and welcome to the forum.

Cheers also Graham. As to your question, I used five fan braces that were a little taller in dimension to my normal range. Five braces are not uncommon in Tenor instruments anyway - I've built with both five and three before.

On top of this was the increased bridge dimension/surface area. I used David Hurd's guide to string tension and required gluing area to extrapolate and create my bridge design to meet the necessary requirements.

Overall I was happy with the results for a first attempt at a six string uke.

Hope that helps.

Jeremy.
