#1 Oh what a feeling!

Finally finished after 18 months.

Been playing it for a week. Set the intonation today. I am so happy with the outcome. I am a everyday player and I have a Larrivee OM. I haven't picked up the Larrivee since this was finished, Might have to sell it!

Anyway its a Engleman 000 with EIR back and sides. Not sure about the slotted headstock thing yet, I actually had to Google how to put the strings on because I had never done it on a steel .

Thank you so much to everyone who contributes here. Its a wealth of information, inspiration and entertainment.

Next up is a blackwood GA. Really looking forward to this one.

A good clean looking guitar Jeremy, with very nice EI rosewood.
I like the slotted headstock, but think the tuners are
upside down. It is my understanding that the worm gear
goes to the top?

I though so too but the pics on the stewmac site show them on top. Looking at the pics in the reviews section though and it looks like most people have mounted them worm gear up. Anyhow they seem to work fine and don't fit the other way round so I am stuck with them like that!

I don't mind admitting that it actually brought a tear to my eye. Really inspires you to keep building, I can only imagine what it would be like to build one for someone and see the look on their face the first time they play it. Hopefully one day.

I'd bet through history even experienced long time builders have at times been brought to tears with a new creation.
Where did the plan come from? I saw it on your workshop wall above that hot looking bike that I want one of . And what sort of radius is there to the top? It has a traditional look about it like it's almost a flat top.

The plan came from this site http://ultimate-guitar-building.com/plan-shop/. It's the plan for the 000-28VS. I built from the cumpiano book and I can't recall the radius off hand but they were done as per his book. For my next build I have made some radius dishes based on the Gore/Gilet book which I think is 15' and 33' from memory.
