My modified side bender

Post by Taffy Evans » Thu Dec 07, 2023 9:21 am

Hi, at the risk of becoming boring another Jig post...

After 15 years of feeding bent sides out of my side bender with some difficulty, LMI came out with their new side bender that was only supported on the backside. Dah! That makes so much sense. So I made the modifications shown, and it’s just as stable as before and with easy access and viewing from the front.
I used to use the heat lamp method only, but now I use a heat blanket as well.
However, after bending a couple of sets of sides I found that there was a slight amount of movement when downward pressure was added to the sides, so I added the removable support shown.
