Guitar hanger for finishing

Post by old_picker » Mon Apr 17, 2023 5:46 pm

Not often required here and in my old workshop had a strategically placed hook in the finishing shed. Not possible to drive a hook into the steel foam steel sandwich refrigeration panels my new workshop is built from.

Wondering if any one has a tip on what I could go and buy readily to do this job.
Really dont want to fabricate a frame if I can just go and get something cheaply. Most likely, if I know me it will be over-engineered and cost in time and wood will be too much for what it is.

Thought of:
punching bag stand - exie and a bit too low.
hospital drip bag stand - the hangers are a bit short.

Zenith Sure Hooks from Bunnings happen to have prongs that are perfectly spaced to hang a guitar by the headstock. I don’t know if they will be useful for holding while spraying, but I find them really useful for storage. I have 5 instruments hanging from the walls and rafters in my workshop at the moment. The longer hooks can hold a couple of guitars on one hook.
Buy a multi-pack and they come out about $5 each.

Hi, I seem to have a collection of old fan stands due to the fans failing far too easily and often. Well, what do you expect for $15.00?
Anyway, this took less than ten minutes to make.

I can't see it being over-engineered, maybe just to make it more stable.
