Another Jig tool thingy video

Post by timbuck » Mon May 04, 2015 3:55 am

I've been busy in the shed doing the thing I like best ..Inventing things ;)..This one is an idea I thought up sometime back but never got round to building it to see if it worked....After i've cut the dovetails on the router and then bandsaw..there is always a bit of hand work to do to get a good fit.... So this device is to remove the final bits of wood at the end of the heel that I usually do with the chisel.
It turned out to work so well that i'm going make a better one using proper engineering materials instead of the scrap box parts..maybe I could add a motor
Anyway here is a video I made of the device.

I'd be adding a motor Ken, after twenty odd necks you could be getting sick of it, mind you I'd be getting sick of it after two! I HATE repetitive tasks.

Makes me feel better about the total mess in my workshop - must be because my brain has been working!
Nice jig Ken.

Well I made a better designed sanding thingy, it only took a couple of hours..I made it more simple this time the dovetail block is made from Delrin mounted on a couple of 7mm bright steel rods ..I can now add this to my jig collection :D BTW I scrapped the prototype.
Here are a couple of pic's in case someone wants to make one in the future.
