Sooner or later I'll make my own "hand table saw".

I remember you presented those videos earlier, and I think you also had mentioned something about the materials you used (no really cheap, right?).
Will it be o.k. to use tubes as rails or should they be made of solid rods? If you used tubes, of what wall thickness are they? Suggestions on where to get such rails? I guess one has to make his own bearings, right? Image

I love your rig Pete.
I'm thinking I might knock up something similar. One change that I am currently thinking through is to somehow set it up with the blade overhead instead of underneath. The main advantage of this approach would be the ability to slot pre-radiused boards. The high quality blade would be all important in such a system as I'm guessing that the equivalent of your earlier riding up problem would be a total jamming of the blade. May be a few weeks before I get time to follow through but I'll keep you posted as to how things go.
