Making Radius Dishes

I needed another dish so took a few photos to show the method. Dishes are 600mm square .It is a fair bit of work but the jig is just shot and glued together.Takes longer to work out than make.Calculating the arcs and making the matched runners is exacting work but not beyond any instrument makers. The arcs are cut with a bandsaw and then to match them exactly I used self adhesive sandpaper to marry the two curves.Put the sandpaper on first one then swap to the other and then swap back to use each piece to sand its shape on the other. Some witness marks with a pencil will help to see where the wood needs to come off.(Should have taken some photos of that to better explain it).Hopefully the photos of the rest will be self explanatory. Here is a link to determine the arcs and lots of other useful info on this website.

Good to see another method Michael. It's similar to the one I used in making mine, but I didn't have the swish dust extraction set up that you have.

Very high tec Allen. It is hung from the roof and tied to the jig with copper wire.Better than sucking up that MDF and filtering it through your lungs.
