Not exactly Lillian.
There was a movie made here called "The Castle". About a family of battlers whose home was to be compulsorily aquired and took it to the hight court to save their abode.
The father's favorite saying when anything valuable was aquired was "that's going straight in the pool room".
Very funny Australian movie, so you'd have to have seen it to appreciate the line.
I'll see if I can track it down and send you a copy.

Lillian
I've found you a copy of The Castle.
My only concern is that it may be an Australian region DVD and may not play on a USA region DVD player.
Does anyone know how all this works?
I'll have the DVD in a few days and I'll take a copy in case it doesn't work for you and I have to re-encode it as an .avi that I can send and you can watch on the 'puter.

There are several websites out there with instructions on how to convert region specific DVD players to region free status. It is usually a matter of hitting buttons on the remote in various combinations.
The Castle was released in the US a few years ago. I recommended it to a friend there and they found a copy. Mind you, I don't think they fully understood it
It is a particularly Australian humour
Tell him he's dreamin'

Lillian I think that you can rent it here in the states. I checked Netflix because I want to see it too and they have it if this is it:
When land surveyor K. (Ulrich Mühe) arrives at a small village that houses a castle, local authorities refuse to allow him to enter. As he tries to convince the officials that they sent for him, they clamp down with increasingly complicated bureaucratic obstacles. Directed by renowned European filmmaker Michael Haneke, this visually stunning adaptation of Franz Kafka's absurdist novel first aired on Austrian television.

I just had a look on Netflix Hesh and it's there.
Here's the description from the page.
When plans for an airport expansion threaten the home of Darryl Kerrigan (Michael Caton) and his family, the patriarch refuses to move from his "castle" -- in actuality, a shabby suburban tract house. Darryl rallies the troops and takes his battle to the highest court in Australia. This irreverent, warm-hearted comedy is frequently compared to The Full Monty.

I was listening to a US reviewer talk about the appallingly awful US remake of Kath and Kim the other day. He said that US networks think that seppos can’t understand our accent so they feel compelled to do remakes.
He did say that what the US had done to Kath and Kim was so bad that it should lead us to sever all trade ties and offered the nation an apology for the abuse.
Let’s hope they don’t try to americanise ‘The castle’ eh.
Dom
