Running VA software with Windows 11

Post by kiwigeo » Fri Sep 09, 2022 11:48 am

My aging workshop laptop is about to die so I need to buy a new machine. I'm running VA software on the old machine with Windows 8.1. Is anyone running VA on Windows 10 or 11? Any issues?

VA will run on anything from Win XP to Win 11. I still use v. 9.0.6, which has a couple of draw-backs listed here, but these are less hassle (to me) than using later versions. After XP, for v. 9.0.6 the mic levels need to be set up in Windows, as after XP the Windows I/O protocol changed which is the cause of the error message that gets thrown up on start-up. The error message can be ignored; just set mic levels in Windows Control Panel.
