The box Ive been dying for

Getting a case for a German style mandolin here is pretty well impossible. Importing one is just usurious. So I made one.

6mm birch ply, faux leather from one of my sons abandoned upholstery project, a $12 exercise mat and an bean bag cover. Hardware from the big B. It comes in about 3.5kg and when I can get some of the right solvent a good cleanup of the adhesive spread. There would be a different order of construction if I undertook another one but it works. Total cost is about $70 which isn’t too bad given an imported box would be at least $500 landed. An interesting diversion.
