That's sad news. Rick one of the pioneers of modern luthiery. LOL.....I remember a guy who could be as cranky as hell at times but he knew what he was talking about and was willing to share his knowledge. RIP Mr T.

He was a sensational "outside the box" thinker and innovator. I remember some fantastic contributions that he made here on important ideas like adjustable neck designs and flying buttress internal bracing. The bio at Fretboard Journal makes you realize the varied roles he had in luthiery and the musical instrument industry over decades. An interesting and highly original character.

Yes, he didn’t suffer fools or those he considered fools. But he was always very generous with his knowledge. I always read his posts on numerous forums. VALE! A true innovator.
