The Late Peter Scott-Young

Post by rocket » Wed Jun 12, 2019 5:18 pm

Has anybody in here had the pleasure of knowing the late Peter Scott-Young? This gentleman lived in Ringwood east of Melbourne and was the go to guy for veneers and purfling,I was always amazed at the amount of stock he had and the variety, he had bookmatched veneers of species I’ve never heard of and others I would only dream of seeing, picture a double car garage stacked nearly to the roof with bundles of veneers! Amazing.
Sadly he passed about two years ago, so when i rang to make an appointment his phone was disconnected, our good friend Frank Vandenboom lives nearby and offered to drop by and upon some discreet enquiring discovered the bad news, I wonder if anyone knows what happened to all that stock?
RIP Peter.
Like I said before the crash, " Hit the bloody thing, it won't hit ya back

I can’t answer as to what happened to the stock, I did hear about his passing quite some time ago.

I have purchased from Peter in the past, not often though as I rarely work with veneers, however for anyone who did Peter was the man to call.
