Some advantages of modern tools

Post by simso » Thu Jun 08, 2017 1:14 pm

Had a guitar neck on todays schedule with severly warped neck, truss rod max engaged I measured relief of 93 thou and a left hand twist happening.

After discussion with customer, we are going the dual carbon fibre stiffeners.

I took some photos showing the removal of a fretboard with cnc router being used with a hand wheel rather than being programmed.

Nibbled that board away and left the binding still fitted, now you have to admit that is super cool.

Yep agreed.

My cnc router has a hand wheel fitted for doing manual cutting.

I nibbled that little fretboard away until I hit neck wood, not having to remove the binding is pretty awesome, took about 2 hrs of manual controlling.

Dropped a freshly made fretboard back into it today.

Inlays next week, frets, a smidgen of clear lacquer and job done

What I like the most Mr Simso is that you breath life back into an Instrument and put a smile on someones face ,that's where the reward is for me :D .
