Small Milestone achieved - 50 How to of repairs completed

Post by simso » Sat May 06, 2017 1:33 pm

50 down, next goal another 50 by christmas

Have about 7 on the go at the moment, from top replacements, neck resets and so forth.

My next one is how to colour match solid colours, I haved a cream coloured guitar which has been dropped of a shelf and taken the paint off, showing how I mix the colour up using red / blue and yellow pigments

Has anyone started branching into repairs yet??

Only when I absolutely have to Steve. Not enough hours in the day to fit that into the mix along with filling orders.

I have been using them, thank you for posting! I have done a couple of repairs on instruments that are not mine, but I have been doing a lot of "repairs" on my earlier instruments.

I have been given 3 guitars to practice on: a nylon and a steel strung acoustic and the hofner mentioned in a previous post. Both the acoustics where left in the back of a car and the braces came unstuck. The nylon stung is back togeather and playing. The steel strung also has a hole in the lower bout, a broken truss rod and heap of other minor faults - scratches mainly.
Being a complete novice at this, I'd be struggling without your "How to"
Keep em coming :D
