How to protect signatures on your guitars

Post by simso » Tue May 02, 2017 6:41 pm

This one is a how to of protecting the signatures on a signed guitar.

There are some clear lacquer witness marks up each side, where I have transitioned the new lacquer onto the old lacquer, in a perfect world we would have resprayed the whole top, but that was outside of the customers budget, as it was I did way more than I possibly should have. :)

For me the key points on this one, is paint selection and not to buff, these are very important decisions when preserving the signatures.

Thanks, the camera is also being a bit generous to me, it has light marks in the finish.

I think if I sat there with some swirl remover I could make it come up as nice as a buffed finish, but that's just way more energy than I currently have.
