How to design a guitar elec shape with cad

Post by simso » Tue Apr 18, 2017 12:45 pm

Just a quick one, doing a design for my son who is going to build himself a lh 8 string guitar.

So decided to screen shot each step, give people that have never done it and idea of the process of designing a guitar shape (not acoustic), next acoustic build I will do one of them as well.

I use Sketch up . Its free and very easy to use once you understand CAD. You can extrude, scale rotate create componenents and groups to build a fairly accurate model quickly. Heres two pics of a build I'm planning.
