Thinned nuts

Post by Dave M » Mon Jan 16, 2017 2:33 am

Wandering the Tube I came across this guitar with a nut thinned down to about half it's thickness in the top half so the strings are only held in short grooves. Not sure If I am allowed a direct link but here goes:

If not it's title is time solo by Pink Floyd.

I've not seen this done before. Anyone any experience- thoughts?

Why not trim 3mm off the end of the fretboard and then fit the nut the other way around?....then you have a nifty nut that you can compensate
