Having just acquired an old table saw I am finding tons of new uses for it. I was wondering if anyone had tried cumpianos method of shaping the heel using a table saw found here http://www.cumpiano.com/#!classical-neck-blank-2/ca5j
It seems that taking small nibbles with a carbide tipped blade and staying well out of the firing line of the blade it should be fairly safe?

Looks like an OK way to shape the heel. Much more fun shaping the heel by hand with a chisel.

I've done mine that way for years. I use a dado head though.

Would it work just as well with a steel string M&T? I wonder if you would get any blowout on the body side of the heel.

Really depends on the timber. I have done several M&T's with the same method.
