J 200 plans

Post by Paul Mac » Fri Jan 15, 2016 12:42 pm

I'm going to have a go at building a Gibson J 200 style guitar and have got the LMI plans for the project. These plans seem very accurate but do not have a side profile. Does anybody know of a set of plans that include the side profile? Thanks.

Hi Paul,

I see no one else has chipped in so here my thoughts - pretty unusual to not have the side profile in a set of plans - if you got the plans from LMI I would suggest contacting them if you haven't already done so.

And not meaning to take the p*** but have you looked on the reverse of the plan? Sometimes they print them double sided.

Failing all that find a J200 in a shop and take a couple of surreptitious measurements, perhaps. Shouldn't need much to get the sides about right, as you will fit them to the top and back any way.

Good luck
Richard

Well, I would send them an email. The web page that shows the plans:
http://www.lmii.com/products/kit-wizard ... ge-noimage
sure shows a side profile. If those aren't the plans you got, then you have reason to ask them what is going on. At the very least, they may be able to email you a PDF that you can print locally.

The one on this page has a side profile template.

You can print them at officeworks.

OK guys thanks for your suggestions, I'm on to it now and hopefully shouldn't have anymore problems.
Cheers Paul.
