Those of us with BAS may be interested in a recently published book
"Australian Rainforest Woods" by Morris Lake, CSIRO publishing.
The book describes 141 of the most significant Australian rainforest
trees and their wood. A useful guide for those looking for Australian
woods suitable for lutherie.

That's cheap Allan , You want to see what my 1919 copy of hardwoods of Australia is worth ! Good guides regularly run into the hundreds .
Having met Morris on occasion and knowing his background there should be some pretty solid technical data along with the botanical specifics that are available in other books .

You can never spend too much on a good reference book! When you think, if looked after, you should have it for the rest of your life and how may times you will refer to it over those years? Probably works out less than 10cents each time it helps you out. Costs me more than that if I get a teller to put my own money into my own account!

Nice to hear in church but not in a Mexican prison.
