epoxy for sealing

i have read with interest all your comments re epoxy for sealing wood

i have been told you cant paint epoxy with a nitro based paint ,,,it wont take on the epoxy

is this true or are they telling me porkys?

where can i buy something that works ?

If you are talking about clear lacquer like many of us our using on our instrument (Mirotone 3220 or similar) then yes.

I never leave any epoxy on the surface. Only filling the pores prior to applying finish.

i use a non catalized nitro clear 100% gloss
what is the best epoxy to use and where can i buy it

I use Bot Cote.

They're in Brisbane. As well you should be able to get from many coating shops.
