Headsup - latest issue of American Lutherie

Post by kiwigeo » Thu Apr 09, 2015 8:48 am

I just received the latest issue of GALs American Lutherie. In it are the following useful articles:

1. "Why Build a Multiscale Guitar" by Ralph Novak. Includes instructions for a nifty template for slotting multiscale fretboards on your table saw.
2. Contemporary Ukelele Making - neck-Joining Methods by Woodley White. An interesting article on various neck joints that can be used on ukes.
3. A Savart Journal Article by R.M Mottola including a discussion entitled "Do Vibrating Break-in devices for Guitars really Work?

I got my copy yesterday too, and already enjoying those articles, particularly the uke neck joint ideas.
Jeremy, I add my vote that it is a worthwhile subscription. I also like Fretboard Journal, but it is not specifically about lutherie, just fretted instruments and music in general.

When I use to subscribe to them, the post to Australia was very slow indeed.
