Finished my L-00
Well guys, I strung up my L-00 for the first time today and all is well. No explosions or flying bridges so she might just stay together. I did brace it lightly so I had some worries. I haven't brought her up to pitch yet but it still sounds ...not too bad! It's an Adi top, Honduran curley Hog back + sides and Brazilian - bindings, bridge, end wedge, headstock overlay and backstrap, fingerboard, rosette, and top purfling. I sprayed the body with nitro and used Tru-Oil- on the neck.

Thanks a lot guys! Kim, The headstock overlay and end wedge and the bridge and fb. came from Steve.
That nice binding came from Allied a few years ago and I have to thank our friend Hesh who came through
for me when I needed two pieces of binding to match what I had. Thanks Again Hesh !! The back strap
and rosette are from Uncle Bob "Zootman" as is the Mahogany and Adi top.
Thanks for your help with the Tru-Oil Ron!

I thought I recognised that beautiful overlay and must add that you have certainly done it justice. Would that be from OLF swapmeet 1 or Steve's Super Summer Sale of 2005/6 ??Dave Anderson wrote:Thanks a lot guys! Kim, The headstock overlay and end wedge and the bridge and fb. came from Steve.

Dave my friend this one is just over the top cool!!!
You did justice to the heritage of the original L-OOs while carefully adding just the right amount of updating (sound port) and eloquence (back plate on head stock).
I agree with Colin - you know this one is going to sound killer.
Outstanding guitar!!!!!

Thanks for all the nice comments guys.I really appreciate it.
I built this little guitar for myself to be my everyday player and I hope it don't disappoint, but so far
so good.It does sound perdy good already.
Kim- Yeah I really liked that piece from Steve.I wish I would have got more of it! I'll post a better picture of the overlay.
Allen- The bracing is parabolic/tapered and .500 high at the X and 1/4" wide. I took a lot of time voicing this little geetar.
Hesh, The idea and inspiration about making an L-00 came from your super Tiger Myrtle guitar so I have to thank you for that too.
It's all your fault man! Thanks

Thanks everyone !
Craig, As you can see,I'm not very good at photography but here is a close up of the top purfling . I used small b/w/b lines. I think on the next one I'm not going to make the purfling quite so wide. I'm just trying to get as much Braz. on the guitar as possible.
Hesh, I'll tell ya, I Really like how the guitar sits in your lap. It is Very comfortable and a joy to play!
And I like how this adi top and mahogany back are sounding !
