Hi there, just looking for a bit of advice. The sides of my guitar suffered a bit of splitting during bending, and now that I've got the lining and bracing in place I am trying to figure out what to do about it.
I think I've got the cracks pretty well sealed, so it's mostly just cosmetic. I am worried that even if I am able to sand it smooth, it will leave the side too thin in that spot.
I've attached a couple of pics. Any advice for a newbie? Thanks!
Side splitting advice
Re: Side splitting advice
If you're worried about side being thin in split areas...but in a splint or patch on inside. I fit vertical side splints on my builds as a matter of course.

Re: Side splitting advice
Hi, yes I'm with Martin on this one. If you make a thin veneer out of the same side timber and can match the grain [even better] and feather it down around the edges.
Good luck.
Good luck.

Thanks for the wisdom, folks. I will patch the interior and sand away!
