Hi everyone. I haven't posted on here in a long time. In fact due to changing jobs, moving, babies, etc I haven't touched much by way of building in a while.
So I'm getting my feet wet again by tackling a project that has been on my list for years. I have an old Vantage that I bought at a pawn shop - one of those guitars that has seen some use (and not-so-good repairs over the years), but with potential.
I've stripped it down, and one of the tasks is completely rewiring it. Does anyone know what pickups these might be (photos below - sorry one might be upside down)? The only marking I can find are the letters FS stamped on the back of each humbucker.
The guitar is a VS600. It looks just like this one: http://en.audiofanzine.com/misc-shape-g ... 68646.html. I'm guessing it's late 70's or 80's?
The pickups have 2 wires (white and red) plus shield. Maybe they're just generic - I have no idea what Vantage used. But any info would be helpful and most appreciated.
Many thanks!
Bern
Help please with identifying these pickups, if possible?
Re: Help please with identifying these pickups, if possible?
Hi Bern,
A very quick Google search turned up this site:
http://www.vantage-guitars.com/models/vs-600.htm
and this info:
Pickups Two Vantage #450PF custom-engineered humbucking pickup with Alnico magnets.. (Humbucker)
(This may not be your exact model, you'd have to do more research.)
Thanks,
GregL.

Thanks GregL,
You know, I've searched online for info for that old Vantage a couple of times since I've owned it, and I've never come across that site before - not sure why. Excellent info. I found the page for my model (the earlier one, 1978: http://www.vantage-guitars.com/models/600vs.htm), and it gives the pickup names. Basically I wanted to know if it was an in-house brand or something else - got my answer and more.
Much appreciated!
Regards
