Advice on neck repair

Hi all,
wondering if I can get some advice. I have been asked to repair a banjo neck that was damaged on a flight. It looks pretty clean (haven't seen it up close). Are there any specific tips from the greater font of wisdom?

Never tried a repair on this type of thing, but it looks like a pretty clean separation of the finger joint from that picture. - More like the glue failed with minor breakage of the timber at the extremes of the "fingers"

If it ends out that the joint is un repairable, the way many broken headstocks are repaired is to cut a scarf joint and simply make a new headstock. Not as simple as a glue up, but a backup plan to keep in mind

Yeh deerings and all that use it all the time,

the thought is to maximise the contact area during glue up, usually there pretty good, they only fail at the joint if insufficient glue was used,

Just glue it up and it should be perfectly fine, (make sure old glue is removed)

use a glue remover like deglue or make one up with KY jelly and white vinegar . Then you can try reglueing it. I may opt here for epoxy or med ca and let clamped for 24 hr.

Today was a good day, I learnt something new again. I have never tried that recipe, but you bet I will on monday.
