10 degrees in Melbourne at the moment and persistent rain, really feeling for our northern friends with their state ablaze.
Rod.
Will be nice to get away from the smoke for a few days , Thanks for the heads up in regards the weather Rod, I'll pack an extra Jumper.

Cheers,
Paul .

Yeah well i went along to the guitar makers festival on the weekend, i thought it was a very worthwhile event, 24 builders of different styles, classical, steel string, arched top, a few ukes, Wiesebourne, and someone even had the cheek to produce an electric base! some dudes have got no conscience. These events always attract some shady characters the unwary should always be careful of, i think these particular individuals hail from down Geelong way, anyways i got a pic of'm and a few of the instruments as well.
I was also lucky enough to catch up with a few blokes from up north Jeff and Paul and Trevor, also from Melbourne , Stu, i hope everyone had a good couple of days.
Cheers
Rod.

Very successful weekend. It was great to catch up with a heap of forum members and put some faces to names and a few of us went out for a meal and a few drinks on the Saturday night at the Caringbush Hotel. I have no tales to tell as it was all very civilized - no one was ejected and no police were called.

Lots of nice instruments on display and there were concerts arranged to showcase the instruments.

Here's some pics.

Yep looks like the place to be. I tried to order a HNT Gordon small spoke shave today as a present for my upcoming birthday and Terry said he sold out at the Festival.

Some wonderful looking instruments there!

Thanks for the pictures.

Thanks guys for posting the pics for those of us that couldn't make the trip. Some nice twangers on show there! Rod, as usual an nice selection on show. That first picture of the Woodtone stand, the glow coming off that archie is gorgeous! Who's (builder) is the semi hollow Bass?
Many people have their interest tweaked by the double strung Weezy Bob?
As usual Tim Kill brings something different, combines two of my interests clocks and guitars all in one package  and I like the look of Jack Spira's little slot head even though it's got Paua inlays!
A high standard presented by all builders :cl :cl :cl

Nice to hear in church but not in a Mexican prison.

Got sick of talking about the bloody thing Nick.

It did exactly what I thought it would. Created interest and got more people looking at the other instruments as well.

Regards

Nick, that's Rod's semi Acoustic Leccy Bass I'm sure he can chime in with some more details.

Looks like the sort of place I would enjoy. Funny how that bass just stands right out for me, maybe cause it is a bass amongst a bunch of guitars but maybe cause it just looks so good, well done Rod. Well done all for that matter, like I keep telling myself "maybe next time".

Sorry Jim I thought you meant the E335 Style Bass Guitar in the case (Rod's) not the upright double bass...
