Celluloid and Acetone glue

Post by liam_fnq » Thu Jun 27, 2013 4:33 pm

For those who have used this glue for celluloid bindings:

How runny do you want it to be?

How much open time do you get with it?

How long does it take to dry?

Thanks in advance.

I've been using Tarzan's grip and it's working fine. Some one here recommended it.... It's a bit like model glue from when I was a kid. Stays in place, but I only get about 5 minutes to get finished with it, so I plan well...

Sorry, I know it's not acetone glue---wouldn't even know where to FIND that around me---but it is a sort of gel-like consistency, and holds it's place when laid into the binding ledges. Maybe that will help....

IIRC Acetone will melt the plastic together, but does it also bond to the timber?
I wish I was half the man my dog thinks I am....

Cheers,
Nick
