Soundboard removal
Soundboard removal
Over the past 6 months or so, I recall seeing several posts detailing
methods for removing/replacing soundboards. Now for the life of me
I can't find them on the forum. Could anyone please help me out.
I recently picked up an old classical guitar for $30.00 at a Salvo op shop
and was contemplating repairing or replacing the top.

Re: Soundboard removal
Doing it without removing the binding or purfling is the hard way, but reasonably straight forward when you get your head around it.

Hi Bruce,
Here is a post about removing tops:

It mentions a previous post from John (Woodrat).
Hope this helps.
Thanks,
GregL.

Hi Martin
No plywood all solid timber. The top appears to be western red cedar,
I am uncertain as to what the timber is in the back , sides or neck.
