Reputable Music Shops in Sydney CBD area

A friend of mine living in Sydney CBD is looking for a reputable music shop...ie one that could tell her what guage strings shes running on her guitar and sell her a replacement set without fleecing her.

Any info would be much appreciated.

Well Guitar City on Parramatta road are very friendly, they should have a vernier caliper there to measure strings.

Also Billy Hydes on Parramatta road have always been helpful. Then there are the specialist and vintage guitar shops (also on parramatta road!!!!!) who I'm sure could help.

I don't think anyone is gonna fleece your friend for a set of guitar strings ...

Thanks Matthew,

My friend is a learner and shes playing a clanker. Some places would flog a set of Savarezs to her when all she needs is Ernie Balls.
