Hi Matthew,

Ive printed them out and they look OK to me. There are other plans which go to the detail of grain direction, ornamentation etc but not these. I think these are good for the shapes but after that you are on your own. These are no dimensions, but things like fret placement etc can be sourced elsewhere so they are useful for shapes, not much else.

No bracing guides either. Took me a while to work out what the maltese cross drawing was for!

For the Archtop, Mandolins and Mandola's there are, these use tone bars not bracing like you see on the guitars on the forum here. Because of the carved tops and the tailpiece to anchor the strings they dont need to be braced, tone bars are used to improve the sound.

The curious thing about this company, with the unlikely name of one of the partners (Rev Archimedes Bailey!), is that I have never heard of them actually building anything. Someone put a lot of time and effort into those plans, but what happened. Any Melbourne forum members ever been to 140 Gold St, Brunswick? I suppose I could write them a letter...

cheers

I wonder if they are still in business. Their website says that they are moving their business and will not be taking orders until late 2004. There isn't a telephone number listed and no indication if the address listed is where they are moving to or if that's where they are moving from.
